Druz blog 2

I feel that the genogram assignment is going to be a challenge for me. I'm not that in touch with any other family members besides one of my Aunt's and a few cousins. Even though I will have to give a little extra effort, it will be worth it to find out more about my family. I feel before I can teach my students about a family and ways they work, I have to know where I came from, and how mine works. It will be interesting to see the information I find about the relationships between some unknown family members, and what it has to do with me. I'm sure I will have to do some serious digging, however if I can learn more about myself and my family members, it will give me personal experience to discuss with my students.

I know what you mean. My family does not have close ties like other families and it will be nice to know some of the things I am curious about. My family isn't secretive by any means, we just don't discuss history as much as other families might. I think it's an important thing to discuss in the family, but not to go as far as gossip and rumors. However I also hope I won't be bringing up painful memories along with this, while I have no reason to believe I will, once again I don't know the history.

My family is the same way also. It did kind of excite me when I found out we got to find this out but when I started talking to my mom, I realized that there was a lot about our family I didn't know. We are more of a serious family when it comes to business and if something doesn't need to get out, it won't. I know that this is going to be a little bit difficult to find out all of the truth of the family history but it needs to be done. I think I will be able to do some research on my own also to find out somethings that shouldn't be talked about unless necessary. I can already tell that this will really be an experience for me.
